Mr Niall McVeigh, who is a native of Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, is appointed as Deputy Principal of St Bricin’s College. He has a number of years’ experience in this role as Deputy President at Cistercian College Roscrea, Co Tipperary.
He is a graduate of St Mary’s University College, Belfast and NUIGalway, having achieved a B.Ed and M.Ed in Educational Leadership and Administration. He has specialised in Teaching & Learning through his post graduate studies for Ph.D in Educational Leadership. He is an associate lecturer in Education at St Mary’s College.
Prior to his progression into school leadership as Deputy Principal, he was appointed Assistant Director in Post Primary Education for the Dioceses of Derry. In this role he was education advisor to 24 secondary schools, across Donegal and Fermanagh.
He is also an accomplished sportsman, with a proven track record in GAA, having played at County level for Donegal and Fermanagh.
St Bricin’s College welcomes Mr McVeigh to the Belturbet community, he is no stranger to the area, having family in Kildallan parish, Belturbet and Ballyconnell. His extensive experience and expertise will allow him to bring a new dimension to the development of our school and build on the academic progress and improvements of recent years to take the school to an outstanding standard, as we head into the 80th anniversary of the schools establishment.
